Barrier free is one of the biggest problems around the world. In Japan, many equipments have installed to faciliate physically-challenged people's life. Needless to say, all people have rights for freedom. However, people living with sight loss face a lot of problems and that prevent them from going to new places. "Currently, visiting a new city is often daunting, even for people with enough
confidence to tackle the challenge independently. For others, who rarely leave
home alone, the thought of an unfamiliar journey leaves them stressed and
anxious and visiting a new area is an impossible dream." explained Jenny Cook, head of strategy and research at Guide Dogs.
To solve this problem, Microsoft invented an innovative headset. It is adapted version of one which is already on sale. It is designed for cyclists. The headset gives users necessary information through a ear. Tests have been done and blind people felt more confident when they were using them.
Thanks to advance of technology, barrier free may be realizable in the near future.
